|SMART accession number:||SM00731|
|Description:||Predicted to have roles in transcription elongation. Contains a conserved HExxH motif, indicating a metalloprotease function.|
|Interpro abstract (IPR006640):|
This is a family of uncharacterised bacterial proteins which includes Escherichia coli SprT (P39902). SprT is described as a regulator of bolA gene in stationary phase [(PUBMED:13129938)]. The majority of members contain the metallopeptidase zinc binding signature which has a HExxH motif, however there is no evidence for them being metallopeptidases.
