|Interpro abstract (IPR003893):
||This is a motif found only in Iroquois-class homeodomain proteins. It has unknown function. Examples include iroquois-class homeodomain protein IRX-4, and homeobox proteins caupolican and araucan, which control proneural and vein forming genesand are positive transcriptional controllers of achaete-scute. They may act as activators that interact with the transcriptional initiation complex assembled on the achaete and scute promoters.
|GO process:||regulation of transcription, DNA-templated (GO:0006355)|
|GO component:||nucleus (GO:0005634)|
|GO function:||DNA binding (GO:0003677)|
