WR1Worm-specific repeat type 1 |
---|
SMART accession number: | SM00289 |
---|---|
Description: | Worm-specific repeat type 1. Cysteine-rich domain apparently unique (so far) to C. elegans. Often appears with KU domains. About 3 dozen worm proteins contain this domain. |
Interpro abstract (IPR006150): | This repeat, originally named as Worm-specific repeat type 1, is found in several Caenorhabditis elegans proteins, as well as some other eukaryotes. The region contains several conserved cysteines that probably form disulphide bridges and is often found associated with kunitz domains IPR002223 that may function as serine peptidase inhibitors; these belong to MEROPS peptidase inhibitor family I2. |

There are 14923 WR1 domains in 4256 proteins in SMART's nrdb database.
